About The Position

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft assembly, integration, or manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a program or technical leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft structural assemblies, system installations, wiring, hydraulics, and flight systems.
  • Proven ability to manage program schedules, technical scope, and cross-functional resources.
  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheets, Jira) and standard office applications.
  • Demonstrated success in managing program schedules, technical scope, and cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Expertise in advanced manufacturing tools (CAD, PLM, MES)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills to set direction and mentor a diverse engineering team.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-iteration environment, balancing big-picture program goals with hands-on, real-time build solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of aircraft assembly and integration from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Serve as the technical and programmatic point of contact, managing coordination between engineering, manufacturing, systems, supply chain, and quality assurance teams.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program schedules, budgets, and risk registers to track progress and ensure milestones are met.
  • Oversee the physical integration of structural, mechanical, and avionic systems into aircraft platforms.
  • Ensure configuration control, interface compatibility, and alignment with certification and customer requirements.
  • Identify and resolve technical and execution risks quickly and efficiently.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and recovery plans clearly to leadership and customers.
