Sony Electronics in the San Jose, California location is seeking to welcome the best and the brightest into our world-class marketing and engineering team. We are searching for a new member as a Systems Software Engineer to work closely with ecosystem partners as well as our Sony image sensor design team in Japan to provide solutions for and trustable viewing, ADAS and autonomous driving systems as part of the Safety Cocoon concept.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a development, systems or technical support engineer, preferably in the automotive or imaging markets
  • Proficiency in Linux and C++ development environment
  • Strong product and system knowledge in the Image Sensors or Sensing Devices used in Automotive Platforms
  • Hands-on work with imaging and sensing related hardware and software technology
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels of an organization
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally (~10%)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NVIDIA embedded platform development (Jetson, Drive, etc…), CUDA/C++ and associated platform SDKs
  • Japanese language ability is preferred but not required
  • Disciplined, organized and a strong analytical background
  • Ambitious, energetic and technically competent
  • Ability to set priorities and give measurable guidance to the BL that can provide highest ROI to the business.
  • Is a highly self-motivated, self-driven individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced technology environment to drive real-world solutions

  • Focus resources understanding business and strategic priorities

Responsibilities

  • Understand Automotive product and system requirements for image sensors and sensing devices
  • Build and retain strategic relations with NVIDIA and other ecosystem partners like ISP/SOC, software, lens, system interface and camera module companies to support integration for system solutions
  • Coordinate NVIDIA partner ecosystem activities in the USA with headquarters in Japan, and with regions involved in key platform customers worldwide
  • Operate and develop hardware and software to complete functional NVIDIA Drive and Jetson platform system solutions with Sony image sensor and sensing products
  • Support image tuning and sensor characterization for integration with the NVIDIA ISP/SOC for high quality viewing and accurate sensing
  • Drive and promote future generation Sony products to the market via NVIDIA platform attachment
  • Analyze, understand and anticipate Automotive Market Image Sensor Trends as it relates to positioning of Sony products into the market, focused on NVIDIA platform customer requirements
  • Work closely with the team in Japan on Strategic and Product Roadmap definition and technology development that match the NVIDIA platform
  • Participate in conferences to gather market intelligence, meet customers, present papers and create press articles
