About The Position

Tectonic is actively looking for a full-time, experienced Staff Surveyor to join our Land Surveying Department based within our Corporate Office in Orange County, NY. This role offers a motivated candidate the opportunity to develop and advance your career in Land Surveying position while working with cutting-edge technology! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions of this position include performing and drafting field surveys and office computations using collected data for a variety of sites, including boundary and topography surveys, plans, cross sections, and profiles. The Staff Surveyor will also perform project research of records for deeds, maps, utility information, etc., analyze record and field information for boundary line determinations, compose and review computations, reports, and plats for completeness and accuracy. This also includes coordinating field monitoring technology, performing statistical calculations, and coordinating the installation and setup of field equipment, as well as all related duties as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of combined land surveying experience, or other suitable combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of land surveying practices and computations
  • General knowledge of land surveying equipment, and its operations; experience working with Leica Scanners and software a plus
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2024, along with functional knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
  • HS Diploma or equivalent; Land Surveying Degree a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Requires a valid driver's license to perform field site visits.
