About The Position

About our group: We are part of the Advanced Reliability group in the Product Assurance organization. The Advanced Reliability group plays a key role in protecting our customers and our company by pursuing test and field software solutions, field analytics, and technology staging. The software solutions team provides an end-to-end software platform for reliability of our HDDs throughput the life of the program, from inception to post-qualification. About the role - you will: Develop and maintain test libraries and scripts to test and qualify our latest HDDs with cutting-edge HAMR technology. Cooperate and coordinate with technology staging team for upcoming new firmware features and help facilitate new test cases. Work with the Customer Success team to deliver solutions for customer requests and issues. Collaborate with Seagate Security, Firmware, and Legal teams on tools and new feature integration. About you: Work cross functionally to manage, influence and drive solutions both internally and externally. Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills. Self-motivated individual with a strong willingness to learn and grow. Demonstrated success improving processes and solving for tomorrow. Profound desire to improve customer sentiment. Knowledge of how HDDs work, and how they are used at our customers.

Requirements

  • B.S. in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • High proficiency with C/C++ and Python.
  • Linux OS/Kernel and HBA driver & firmware development experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience in collaborative-group code development environment.
  • Familiarity with JIRA Atlassian tools (or equivalent); JIRA, Fisheye, Bamboo, Bitbucket
  • Experience in continuous integration / continuous development environment.
  • Storage industry experience (HDD/SSD) understanding physics & mode of operation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • Demonstrated success improving processes and solving for tomorrow.
  • Profound desire to improve customer sentiment.
  • Knowledge of how HDDs work, and how they are used at our customers.

Nice To Haves

  • T13 SATA and T10 SAS, NVMe spec familiarity.
  • Proficiency with Java/JavaScript.
