About The Position

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help shape and evolve a foundational Windows/.NET Framework–based, on-premise platform within our Machine Identity Security portfolio. This is not a cloud-first role. You will be building software deployed inside enterprise customer environments, including restricted and air-gapped networks, where security, reliability, upgradeability, and long-term maintainability are critical. This role is focused on how systems are built including defining architectural patterns, engineering frameworks, and platform standards in an environment where decisions have lasting impact.

Requirements

  • Deep experience building Windows-based applications using .NET Framework (not .NET Core)
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of core C#/.NET fundamentals, including dependency injection, object lifecycle management, and application architecture patterns
  • Experience developing and supporting on-premises or enterprise-deployed software
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), including query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and performance tuning in production systems
  • Experience with installation, upgrade, and migration of long-lived systems
  • Strong understanding of secure software design in enterprise environments
  • Ability to operate at a system and platform level, not just feature delivery
  • Clear and effective communication—able to articulate complex technical concepts simply

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve architecture for Windows services and .NET Framework based components
  • Define and drive engineering frameworks and coding standards across performance, threading, memory management, and diagnostics
  • Establish patterns for installation, upgrade, and migration frameworks supporting long-lived enterprise deployments
  • Lead design and code reviews with a focus on clarity, durability, and long-term maintainability
  • Drive platform performance, including MSSQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and efficient data access patterns
  • Design systems for predictable behavior under enterprise-scale workloads
  • Implement frameworks for diagnostics, logging, and supportability in restricted or customer-managed environments
  • Drive security-by-design across the platform, including secrets management, least privilege, and certificate lifecycle
  • Ensure systems meet strict enterprise security and compliance requirements
  • Balance modernization with backward compatibility and upgrade safety
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives from architecture through release
  • Partner with Product and Architecture to align decisions with real-world customer environments
  • Mentor engineers and elevate system-level thinking and technical judgment across the team
