As a Staff Software Engineer, you will provide key technical contributions, lead projects, and mentor junior team members. You will be responsible for optimizing YouTube playback decisions across every YouTube playback globally including resolution, codec, buffer sizes, and content sources. In this role, you will improve playback performance by identifying system improvements, debugging problems, collaborating with server, client, and networking and protocol teams to develop new capabilities. You will contribute through coding, metrics analysis, and project ideation, scoping, and execution. You may also lead through developing road maps, collaborating with partner teams, and presenting updates to leadership.
