With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. The Persistent Disks (PD) Capacity space provides the models and systems that ensure we have sufficient resources for consumption within PD, enabling PD to defend its obtainability and performance Service Level Objectives (SLOs) while still operating with low costs. This is a key part of our mission to make block storage (Persistent Disk/Hyperdisk) a foundational cloud infrastructure differentiator while enabling accelerated growth of AI and non-AI workloads in enabling AI workloads is to make sure there is a disk available for training, inference, to boot the accelerator. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operationalize distributed systems that do everything from leveraging data science produced models to forecast resource usage and the resource reservation to providing the APIs used by the rest of PD for understanding capacity levels and resource availability.
• Provide services that enable resource management through its entire life-cycle within PD, including obtaining the resources from Google Cloud's underlying capacity infrastructure, divesting resources when they are no longer needed, and managing their usage by customers in high performance scenarios.
• Build tenancy protection mechanisms for resources, balancing fair resource distribution with the needs for enterprise and ML workloads.
