About the Team: The Office of the CTO and Security team sets the strategic technical direction of the company while keeping both Illumio and our customers secure. Those who join us represent the leader in Zero Trust Segmentation and maintain Illumio’s competitive advantage by exploring new technologies while collaborating with Engineering and Product Management. We are looking for people who leverage differences and push the pace of innovation in a time when the world faces its greatest cybersecurity threats in history. The Illumio Information Security team is responsible for securing our products, our data, and our technology assets. We believe security is an enabler, and our objective is to help the business be successful. As Lead Security Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving security tools to protect our crown jewels. But you won’t be alone – although we are specialists each in our own way, we wear many hats and work collaboratively to help each other be successful.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience doing the following:
  • Leveraging AWS and Azure CLIs and APIs to manage assets
  • Designing and building applications in Go, Ruby, C# and Python
  • UX and UI experience with PHP/JavaScript and CSS
  • working with global teams in different time zones
  • At least 3 years of experience leading and directing other engineers
  • Working knowledge of Illumio’s products and services
  • A data-driven, analytical mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of automation engineers to build security tools and integrations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to protect the Illumio’s production and corporate environments
  • Build, deploy, and automate security solutions to support our defense-in-depth strategy, using a mixture of commercial, open-source, and in-house tools
  • Continually improve the effectiveness of our tools, and implement new approaches to address the changing threat landscape
  • Perform other activities in support of the Security team’s charter
  • Mentor others as you yourself gain knowledge and experience
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotations
