Under direct supervision and with training, the SRA join a multidisciplinary group studying Coccidioides pathogenesis through a family of secreted proteases and the fungus’ interaction with the host during infection. The SRA will become familiar with biocontainment protocols and use methods to perform fungal culture, create fungal mutants through gene deletion, microscopy, gene expression analysis, genomic DNA isolation, next gen sequencing, cell culture, macrophage infections, immunoprecipitations, protein gels, Western blotting, biochemical assays for protease activity; and other duties as assigned. This position represents an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to extensive molecular skills as well as genetics and microscopy approaches in a dynamic research environment. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate).
