About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will serve as the clinical research coordinator for an NIH-funded research projects related to mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Essential Functions: Assist with subject recruitment, including placing advertisements and study flyers, conducting phone screening of prospective participants, working with the team to schedule research subjects, collecting clinical and demographic data, administering questionnaires and cognitive assessments. Maintain and update databases, subject information folders, and subject payment forms Work with study team to develop new procedures when deemed necessary. Responsible for providing and documenting Informed Consent Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology or related fields preferred
  • Comfort working with older adults with mild cognitive impairment
  • Computer literacy with full working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet
  • Acquiring knowledge of research functions.
  • Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multiple projects, tasks, priorities and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline
  • Basic communication skills: verbal and written
  • Self-motivated for a fast-paced learning environment
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling a variety of confidential material
  • Must commit to at least a year
  • NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process.
  • The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions.
  • Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law.
  • The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment.
  • Per Veterans Administration regulations surrounding access to US research, qualified US Citizens will be selected over other individuals eligible to work in the United States.
