About The Position

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Staff Psychiatrist (Board Certified) What You Will Be Doing: The Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care in an acute inpatient setting. The incumbent will conduct assessments, lead treatment planning, and oversee psychological services for adult and adolescent patients. This position functions within a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, and pharmacists. Additional duties include contributing to program development and supporting staff in maintaining a therapeutic, recovery-oriented treatment milieu. Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. with psychiatry board eligibility or certification and meet licensure requirements for practice in Alaska; experience in inpatient or forensic settings is preferred. The Working Environment You Can Expect: The selected candidate will work in an environment that is fast paced, busy and challenging at times, but embraces collaboration through working closely with supervisors, managers, and personnel to assist in providing services to Alaska Psychiatric Institute. This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation. Requirements
