We’re currently searching for a Psychiatrist to join our Cook Counseling Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE: 1) You’ll be joining the Cook Counseling Center team, a department centered on promoting student learning, development, retention, and holistic well-being by providing resources for improving mental health and identifying psychological barriers to academic success. 2) You’ll be reporting to the Associate Director of Psychiatry/Chief Medical Officer, in either a 10-month or 11-month (academic year) or a 12-month, 100% administrative professional appointment, depending on candidate preference and departmental need. 3) You'll work with a multidisciplinary staff of counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurse practitioners, psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and practicum students to deliver services that maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical care. 4) You’ll be responsible for providing integrated psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing treatment of undergraduate and graduate students. Treatment includes developing evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plans to address student needs within a flexible, multidisciplinary, and multimodal system of care. This position requires effective working relationships across the VT community to include Schiffert Health Center, campus wellness partners, faculty, and staff, to ensure a collaborative support network on campus. 5) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $230,000 - $275,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more! Advertised salary range reflects differentiation in appointment types, with the lower end of the scale being most appropriate for 10-month appointments and vice versa.
