The Staff Project Manager is responsible for managing lifecycle management project funnels, defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with R&D teams and stakeholders. The Staff Project Manager is responsible for developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. This position reports to the Senior Staff Project Manager and is part of the global R&D Project Management Office. This position is located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: • Manage project funnels and define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements. • Lead cross-functional R&D teams to execute project plans effectively, monitoring progress and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. • Manage expectations and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Ensure all R&D projects adhere to relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal development processes. • Provide technical oversight to guide discussions, challenge assumptions, and support problem-solving within project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Material Science, Electrical Engineering).
  • Prefer 9+ years of experience in technical project management within an R&D environment; OR Master’s + preference for 7+ years; OR PhD with preference for 4+ years.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex R&D projects from inception to commercialization.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Asana, Trello).
  • Ability to travel – 10% as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of product development life cycles (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Stage-Gate).

  • The annual salary range for this role is $130,000-159,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
