Federato drives better business outcomes. As a Senior Product Manager at Federato, you will be a key leader in shaping the vision and execution of our product portfolio. You will partner closely with design, user research, and engineering to deliver innovative solutions that address critical challenges in the insurance ecosystem. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, a deep understanding of the market, and the ability to effectively collaborate across functional teams. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing Federato's flagship Underwriting Platform. Underwriting Platform include the core capabilities that are business critical for our customers' underwriting. These capabilities include workflows, actions, forms, rating, and more. You will own the roadmap of the underwriting platform and actively seek opportunities to expand the capabilities and to enhance the user experience.

Requirements

  • Experienced Product Leader: Proven track record of delivering successful SaaS products to market, preferably in B2B settings. Experience with AI-powered solutions is a plus.
  • Business Acumen: Broad business acumen across industries and business models, with the ability to understand market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and financial implications of product decisions.
  • Collaborative & Communicative: Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of software development methodologies and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams. Ability to serve as a sounding board for technical discussions.
  • Problem Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address challenges effectively.
  • Value Driven: A passion for creating exceptional products that solve important user problems with an ability to form a big-picture strategy and a willingness to be granular in detail and do hands-on work as needed.
  • BA/BS degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Ability to travel to East Coast roughly 30% of the time or based on product spike timing

Responsibilities

  • Product Evangelism: Effectively communicate the value proposition of the product portfolio to internal and external stakeholders. Build strong relationships with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support product adoption and growth.
  • Market Mastery: Develop a deep understanding of the insurance market, including its key players, challenges, trends, and competitive landscape. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats, informing product strategy, portfolio decisions, and potential M&A opportunities. Define and refine market segmentation to target specific user personas effectively.
  • User-Centric Approach: Collaborate on user research activities (interviews, surveys, ethnographic research, etc.) to understand user needs, pain points, and workflows. Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that inform product and UX strategies. Foster strong relationships with users through user groups and other engagement methods.
  • Product Discovery & Execution: Lead product discovery efforts to identify and validate user problems and needs. Translate these insights into detailed requirements and user stories for engineering teams. Prioritize the product backlog based on cost/benefit analysis and strategic alignment. Employ agile development methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Define and track key product metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and trends to inform product decisions and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success to align on product strategy, design direction, and go-to-market plans. Serve as a sounding board for design and engineering teams, anticipating potential challenges and facilitating effective problem-solving. Effectively motivate teams to deliver against the company vision.
  • Strategic Product Leadership: Define and champion the product vision and strategy for the product, aligning it with the overall company vision and financial objectives. Develop and maintain product roadmaps that articulate the long-term direction and prioritize initiatives based on market analysis, user needs, and business goals.
