About The Position

Organizations today are under growing pressure to navigate the transition to clean energy — not just to meet sustainability goals, but to manage risk, control costs, and build long-term resilience. Yet the complexity of energy markets and a lack of accessible tools have made it difficult for most companies to take meaningful action. Verse was created to change that. Our mission is to make the case for clean energy irrefutable. Through our AI-powered platform, Aria, we help organizations plan, procure, and operate clean energy to achieve their financial and sustainability goals. Verse transforms clean energy ambition into action — giving businesses the clarity and confidence to lead in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. Verse is transitioning into a design-first company, and we’re seeking a Staff Product Designer to help lead that evolution. This is a highly visible, high-ownership role where design is a core pillar of how products are conceived, built, and shipped. As a Staff Product Designer at Verse, you’ll partner closely with Design, Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to shape experiences across multiple platforms while also contributing to brand, marketing, and physical/print design assets as needed. You’ll have meaningful autonomy, a seat at the table, and the opportunity to influence not just product outcomes, but how design operates at Verse. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong creative instincts, and wants to help define the future of design at an early-stage, mission-driven company. You will be reporting to the Director of Design as part of Verse’s growing design team. While currently small, this position plays a critical role in helping build the foundations of a growing design organization - partnering closely with design leadership today and shaping how future designers will work tomorrow.

  • Familiarity with user research tools and best practices, including research documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, defining clarity, and exercising independent judgment.

  • Experience with interaction and motion design.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly for print and brand assets.

  • User experience excellence: Design intuitive, elegant user experiences with strong visual polish, interaction quality, and attention to detail.
  • Design systems: Contribute to and evolve Verse’s design system to improve consistency, scalability, and speed.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Marketing to shape problems, align on solutions, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Design-first influence: Support Verse’s evolution into a design-first organization by modeling strong design practice and influencing cross-functional partners through clarity, craft, and thoughtful collaboration.
  • Documentation & communication: Create clear documentation for research findings, design rationale, and systems to support alignment and scale.
  • Strategic ownership: Proactively identify opportunities and surface UX issues, partnering with Design and cross-functional teams to prioritize, align, and move work forward effectively.
  • Design partnership: Collaborate closely with other Designers on strategy, critique, research synthesis, and execution — helping evolve design quality, workflows, and shared standards across the organization.
