About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to join a small, senior team where design is a strategic function, not an afterthought. The Staff Product Designer will serve as a design leader across multiple product teams, balancing hands-on design work with the management and mentorship of a small team of two designers. This player-coach position involves shipping design work while simultaneously elevating the overall standard of design quality within the organization. The role is crucial in shaping how people experience security technology and building meaningful human experiences.

  • Deep Figma expertise, including component libraries, design tokens, and collaborative workflows that scale across teams
  • Uses AI tools effectively to validate ideas early and accelerate design velocity
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex workflows and tell compelling stories through design artifacts and presentations
  • 8+ years of product design experience at product-driven companies
  • A portfolio showing strong visual design fundamentals and polished UI craft
  • Experience managing or mentoring designers
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex B2B/enterprise workflows
  • AI-forward mindset—you use AI tools to prototype and accelerate your work
  • Pragmatic approach to design systems—you know when to build, buy, or adapt
  • Strong communication skills—you can present to leadership and tell a compelling story

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in physical security, IoT, or industrial tech
  • Front-end familiarity (HTML/CSS) for seamless design-to-dev handoff
  • User research experience or partnership
  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for products serving customers, partners, and internal colleagues
  • Manage and mentor two product designers, helping them grow and deliver great work
  • Establish design standards and systems that scale—pragmatically, not from scratch
  • Partner with product and engineering to shape strategy, not just execute on specs
  • Prototype rapidly using modern tools including AI to validate ideas early
  • Champion human-centered design in a technical, complex domain
