About The Position

Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to lead/assist in process design for new and existing facilities. Analyze, calculate, and design new or revamped process equipment in refinery, chemical, and other industrial applications.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience: Min Yr = 08+
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of P&ID development, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes required.
  • Management: Experience mentoring and leading small teams required
  • Other Skills: Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights)
  • Be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection.
  • Be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • Be able to position yourself to work in confined spaces
  • Adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
  • Meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure: P.E. Preferred
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of process simulation software (eg Aspen Plus, HYSYS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead field and technical evaluations of existing process units
  • Direct and perform calculations, develop PFDs and P&IDs, provide design documentation for downstream engineering disciplines, develop equipment specifications, compile scope of work packages for construction
  • Lead Client and Contractor interface, attend meetings, and provide written reports
  • Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects
  • Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
