About The Position

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders, and/or injuries. This position will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting at the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. Additionally, this position covers our hemophilia multidisciplinary and outreach clinics. Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy is required.
  • Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Entry level experience Orthopedic Physical Therapy experience, including assessment and treatment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience in Physical Therapy.
  • 1-3 years of experience in providing Orthopedic Physical Therapy in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience with patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
  • Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
  • Demonstrates leadership in a work or academic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients’ needs.
  • Evaluate and instruct patients in appropriate treatment plans to achieve treatment goals.
  • Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommends opportunities for improvement in service quality.
  • Review patient progress and update plan, as necessary.
  • Document and present all related patient information.
  • Recommend patient referrals when necessary.
  • Attend and participate in educational programs and provides educational experiences as assigned.
  • Orient and instruct students within established guidelines.
  • Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  • Additional tasks/responsibilities as needed/assigned.
