About The Position

Join our mission-driven team in the Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care as a Rehabilitation Therapy Aide! We are looking for an energetic and compassionate individual to work under the supervision of our Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist (OT) and Recreational Therapist (RT) in a firsthand, high-energy environment. You will also perform designated tasks to assist in services provided by the Department of Rehabilitation Therapies. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing and maintaining a safe, clean patient care environment.
  • Assists in preparing designated patient (s) for therapy intervention including taking patients on and/or off units for group(s)
  • Assist patients as directed during group.
  • Reports on potential patient-related situations and any other pertinent information to the supervising therapist
  • Monitor and report behavior patterns of individual patients and groups of patients.
  • Retrieve/return from parking area, the hospital car/van used for transporting patients into the community.
  • Performs general clerical/office duties as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
