About The Position

This position is responsible for the provision of high quality pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include the dispensing of medications for hospital patients, providing relevant, up-to-date clinical information to clinical staff, physicians, and patients, continuous assessment and evaluation of drug therapies, and following hospital-approved protocols for dosing selected medications. In addition, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Possesses appropriate knowledge of basic pharmacologic principles and their application in the provision of quality patient care
Good communication skills and experience with computerized pharmacy systems necessary
Current Pharmacist Licensure from the California State Board of Pharmacy
Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements: Orientation, Environment of Care, OSHA, Infection Control, Abuse/Neglect, and Ethics
Tuberculosis Screening, Licensure renewal
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience preferred
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
