About The Position

Work on the development of packaging solutions throughout the global products organization. Exhibit a continuous improvement mentality, show passion for planning, implementation, and lead cost and damage reduction activities. Work closely to align with the new product development process to design, develop and ensure packaging solutions are in support of on-time product launches. Act as voice of all internal and external partners including manufacturing, logistics, end customers, and governmental bodies. Deliver packaging solutions with a focus on optimizing packaging material design, processes, equipment and Logistics and Distribution to minimize total cost and deliver high quality for our customers. Actively oversee freight damage metrics and define corrective actions to minimize future issues. Develop and enforce packaging standards supporting operational excellence objectives. Document packaging specifications and ensure they are accurate and complete. Solid understanding of international packaging requirements, testing standards and dangerous goods transportation regulations. Passionate about driving packaging that aligns with long term objectives. Project management excellence, delivering all projects to plan. Ability to influence and be a great partner optimally across a large matrixed organization. Telecommuting: 100% Telecommuting Permitted. Travel: 20% Domestic and International travel required to onsite locations.

Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Packaging Engineer, Product Engineer, or related occupation in packaging engineering.
  • Employment experience with: (1) Packaging material and design process; (2) Logistics and distribution; (3) ISTA & ASTM package performance test methods and procedures; (4) International packaging requirements, testing standards, and dangerous goods transportation regulations; and (5) Project management.
