Staff Nurse II, Intermediate Telemetry Care (ITC)
About The Position
The Staff Nurse II is a registered nurse (RN) responsible for applying the principles of the nursing process within the policies and procedures of the Patient Care Services Department and the Medical Center. As the patient's primary nurse, this role involves the overall management of nursing care, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge. The nurse is also accountable for assuring patient safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection, performing disease prevention and restorative measures, and responding to medical and environmental emergencies.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum one year of current experience in area of specialty
- Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN
- Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS
- Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population
- Ability to read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
- Ability to demonstrate leadership abilities
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Nice To Haves
- BSN Preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification - NIHSS Preferred upon hire and/ or within 2 weeks of starting orientation
