About The Position

Is a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certified. Minimum of two years acute care experience, with one being in ICU preferred. Population is all age groups. Physical ability to perform all nursing duties. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the critical care setting. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities. Knowledge of mission and core values.

Requirements

  • Current California Registered Nurse License required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS Certification required.
  • Minimum of two years acute care experience, with one being in ICU preferred.
  • One year of acute experience required.
  • Ability to interpret EKG monitors required.
  • Successful documented/observed competency during orientation required.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing specialized and complex patient care in the intensive care unit.
  • Monitoring and managing critical patients, including those on life support.
  • Administering medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by the physician.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records.

  • Communicating with patient and their families to provide education and emotional support, and discharge planning.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and promoting patient safety.
  • Mentoring and training new nursing staff.
