We are looking for a Staff Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join our Cloud Ops Team. This role is hybrid onsite three days a week in San Jose, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Network Engineering. As a member of our global infrastructure engineering operations team, you will take on a unique role involving a mix of network engineering, network/customer troubleshooting, infrastructure, and project management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in remote data center network operations, specializing in high-speed fiber networks (10G/100G/400G), device configuration, and physical layer troubleshooting
  • Deep knowledge in BGP routing and L2/L3 troubleshooting for large-scale IPv4/IPv6 Enterprise or Telecom networks, including complex Internet path problem debugging
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to utilize problem ticketing and inventory systems to maintain streamlined data center workflows
  • Demonstrated success thriving in fast-paced environments by effectively managing tight timelines, shifting priorities, and high-pressure deliverables
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) complemented by advanced networking certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP

Nice To Haves

  • Expert in IP packet analysis using Wireshark and hands-on troubleshooting of core protocols, including DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec
  • Experienced in Linux/Unix administration and network equipment management, with the ability to utilize Unix shell scripts for task automation
  • Skilled in managing diverse network hardware and operational tasks, supported by a technical foundation aligned with CCNP and JNCIP certification standards

Responsibilities

  • Participate in 24/7 follow-the-sun model supporting the deployment of new data center hardware, networks, transit, and BGP peering
  • Provide expert L2/L3 network and Internet path troubleshooting
  • Plan and oversee datacenter cabinet layouts, power density, and server cluster deployments to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable operations
  • Manage IPv4/IPv6 subnetting and IP address allocation while ensuring the seamless integration of hardware and network resources
  • Develop and maintain capacity deployment strategies to optimize resource utilization and support long-term infrastructure growth
