About The Position

Design, engineer, build, and support all facets of our production on-premises, cloud, transit, and backbone networks. Ensure the network availability, performance, and future scalability for the entire tech platform, spanning both on-premises and cloud environments. Help design and deploy our automated provisioning, telemetry, and problem remediation tools. Embrace cross-team collaboration. Work closely with stakeholders across multiple Engineering and Business Organizations to develop and implement network-based solutions that support our global growth. Apply intellectual curiosity to research new technologies and figure out their practical applications within our principles and then bring them to life in our production networks.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Systems Management, or a directly related field of study, plus the following experience:
  • 7 year experience in network monitoring, infrastructure, or management
  • 5 years experience in Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST APIs) and Python
  • 3 years experience using REST APIs on network platforms
  • 3 years experience in network security technologies to include experience in Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT)
  • 3 years experience in object oriented design
  • 3 years experience using configuration management tool Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
  • 2 years experience in Internet Protocol (IP)
  • 2 years experience using Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) and High Availability (HA)
  • 2 years experience with L2-L3 protocols.
  • 2 years experience in platform validation.
  • 2 years experience using Quality of Service (QoS).
  • 2 years experience in Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
  • 2 years experience to include experience in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
  • 1 year experience in Google Cloud Platform design using Terraform.
  • Experience can be gained concurrently.
  • Hybrid position. Work in the office 3 days per week.
  • Must reside within commuting distance from employer's Frisco, TX office.
  • Various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
  • Requires 10% domestic and international travel to Uber Freight Center of Excellence (COE) offices.
