About The Position

This role is for a Staff Metallurgical Engineer at a global leader in advanced aluminum solutions, contributing to aerospace, automotive, and sustainability innovation. The position involves providing support and leadership within a manufacturing area, laboratories, or product line, focusing on quality resolution, product/process development, and ensuring compliance with ISO procedures and controls. The engineer will work closely with support staff, shift leaders, and the hourly workforce, and may need to support operations during off-shift hours and/or weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of metallurgical experience.
  • Subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Quality system experience (TS 16949 or AS 9100).
  • 6 years of metallurgical experience.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Statistical Methods, Engineering Calculations, Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy, Metals Solidification Theory, and Material Processing.
  • Experience in the metals or aluminum industry.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, alloy systems, rolling, ingot casting processes, heat treatment, metal microstructures, and failure mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with Nadcap certification and audit preparation, especially for thermal treatment and/or materials testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and leadership to a manufacturing area, laboratories, or product line.
  • Lead resolution of quality issues related to the area of support.
  • Evaluate and develop products, processes, and equipment based on customer requirements.
  • Ensure ISO procedures and product/process control.
  • Work with support staff, shift leaders, and the hourly workforce.
  • Support operations during off-shift hours and/or weekends as needed.
