About The Position

The Staff Lead provides on-site leadership, staff oversight, and operational support within an assigned area of the LA County Fair. This role works in a fast-paced environment to ensure daily operations run smoothly, staff are properly deployed, and guest experiences meet Fair standards. The Staff Lead supports setup within their assigned area, oversees area operations during the Fair, assists with projects and activations, and ensures compliance with departmental expectations and guest service standards.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pre-Fair setup and preparation of assigned area, including operational readiness, staging, and activation support.
  • Ensure employees are in assigned positions and ready for work at their scheduled times.
  • Monitor staff schedules to ensure appropriate breaks and meal periods are taken.
  • Provide direct oversight and guidance to staff within the assigned area.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and daily presentation of assigned attractions, exhibits, activations, or operational spaces.
  • Maintain high standards of guest service and serve as a point of escalation for guest concerns when needed.
  • Monitor area conditions for safety, cleanliness, and operational compliance.
  • Assist with special events, activations, and additional projects as directed by department management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall Fair operations.
