About The Position

Skyworks is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in Newbury Park, CA. As an Industrial Engineer, you'll be working on a broad range of Global projects to support the tactical and strategic goals of a Wafer Fab within a functional area. You'll be interacting with cross functional teams in all areas of our wafer fabrication including Supply Chain Operations, Customer Logistics, Finance, and Engineering. This is an exciting time to join this team, both from a learning and a career perspective: In this position, you'll will help drive continuous improvement opportunities to improve the KPIs' of the company and lead cross-functional teams to make improvements for processes and procedures. To be successful in this position you need to convey professional image with the ability to lead, manage, and communicate to all levels of associates in a team environment. You'll need to have strong analytical problem-solving skills to identify factory bottlenecks, optimize WIP flow and tool utilization, and improving overall equipment effectiveness. You thrive in fast-paced operations with the ability to handle several challenges at the same time, have excellent organizational, project management, and people skills. In this position, you'll spearhead identifying and anticipating problems and opportunities for improvement, and then implementing solutions to improve the existing processes.

Requirements

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering with 8+ years related experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (Master's +6 or PhD + 3 also acceptable)
  • Demonstrated experience in applying industrial engineering concepts to achieve operational improvements in a semiconductor foundry environment.
  • Hands-on mindset to observe, identify and eliminate efficiency issues in the factory, through the use of CI tools like VSM, SMED.
  • Exemplary communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written).
  • Excellent Project Management, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be a strong team player, detail oriented, and perform well under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Semiconductor Industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing and improving fab systems for scheduling, dispatching.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include developing capacity models using mathematical modeling to calculate/predict both short & long-term capital requirements for the wafer fab.
  • Plan and implement capital projects to support capacity and new technology requirements.
  • Perform advanced data analysis using various tools including Python and PowerBI.
  • Drive cost-saving programs with a focus on achieving fiscal targets.
  • Maximize constraint tool productivity.
  • Perform capital equipment cost, productivity and capability analysis.
  • Work with vendors perform equipment assessment, and to retrofit or improve the performance of new or existing equipment.
  • Improve equipment utilization and OEE by identifying and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities within the fab.
  • Ideate and brainstorm incremental improvement opportunities with a focus on operational efficiency and cost.
  • Regularly present analysis and project progress to top management.
  • Advanced workstation setup and optimization.
