About The Position

GRI is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our team. Our project roster and clients are diverse. As a Staff Geologist at GRI, you will gain experience working on a variety of interesting assignments under the mentorship of senior and principal geologists and engineers. GRI is an employee-owned, full-service geotechnical, pavement, geological, and environmental engineering consulting firm based in the Portland, Oregon area. We are an ambitious, highly trained, diversified staff of engineers and geologists. Requirements

  • B.S. Geology
  • Valid driver's license
  • Use computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Perform physical tasks on project sites that may include walking, climbing, crawling, or standing for long periods of time.
  • Lift up to 65 pounds at times.
  • Travel to project sites in vehicles.
  • Capable of overnight-travel for jobs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • GIT or RG Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage field explorations and drilling subcontractors.
  • Perform basic lab testing including Atterberg Limits, Consolidation, Direct Shear, Proctor, Triaxial, etc.
  • Soil and rock classification and geologic site reports.
  • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Environmental soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Construction observation on site.
  • Use gINT, CAD, GIS to collect and present data.
  • Data analysis and report preparation
