About The Position

GRI is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our team. Our project roster and clients are diverse. As a Staff Geologist at GRI, you will gain experience working on a variety of interesting assignments under the mentorship of senior and principal geologists and engineers. GRI is an employee-owned, full-service geotechnical, pavement, geological, and environmental engineering consulting firm based in the Portland, Oregon area. Requirements

B.S. Geology
Valid driver's license
Use computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
Perform physical tasks on project sites that may include walking, climbing, crawling, or standing for long periods of time.
Lift up to 65 pounds at times.
Travel to project sites in vehicles.
Capable of overnight-travel for jobs.

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree preferred.
GIT or RG Preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and manage field explorations and drilling subcontractors.
Perform basic lab testing including Atterberg Limits, Consolidation, Direct Shear, Proctor, Triaxial, etc.
Soil and rock classification and geologic site reports.
Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
Environmental soil and groundwater sampling.
Construction observation on site.
Use gINT, CAD, GIS to collect and present data.
Data analysis and report preparation
