Job Description We are hiring a Staff Engineer in our Minneapolis, MN location. As a Staff Engineer, roles may include on-site investigation work at contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment and soil vapor project sites, field oversight and documentation, sample collection, data logging, remedial design, technical document preparation and reporting.

Requirements

  • Data analysis, proficient in Microsoft platform applications
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or geological engineering, or related engineering degree.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate, or ability to obtain within one year preferred
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Experience with field data collection, investigation, and remediation oversight preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform Environmental Site Assessments and building material sampling
  • Conduct screening of soil and groundwater for various environmental contaminants
  • Oversee remedial projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and coordinate monitoring and testing services
  • Document test results and reviews test data for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with data collection and report preparation
  • Assist with remedial system design, engineering calculations, plans and specifications and construction cost estimates
  • Work with project manager and client to ensure that project objectives are met
  • Travels to local and regional project sites (up to 30% travel and 75% field work expected, based on project needs)
  • Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clients
  • Assist regional environmental staff as needed with group workload
