Apex is hiring a Staff Environmental Scientist I or Environmental Engineer I to be based in Vancouver, WA. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field
  • Experience collecting field samples of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, wastewater, and air using standard environmental protocols
  • Experience preparing regulatory reports and permit-related documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree a plus
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Field collection of environmental samples (air, water, stormwater, wastewater, soil)
  • Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater, wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, and air permit compliance
  • Preparing environmental management plans related to stormwater pollution prevention, spill prevention, and solid waste operations
  • Inspection and auditing for environmental compliance
  • Problem solving through selection and implementation of pollution prevention Best Management Practices for discharge permit compliance
  • Support a variety of environmental engineering tasks for remedial system design and construction
  • Assist with the evaluation and permitting of environmental projects
  • Presentation of environmental topics to employees, clients, and contractors
  • Travel to project sites within Washington and Oregon required
  • Represent Apex in a safe and professional manner both internally and externally
