Staff Engineer

About the Role We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for Arya’s platform. This role is for a senior technologist who can design scalable systems, influence architecture at the company level, and multiply the impact of our engineering team. You’ll balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, mentoring senior engineers, and driving cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years as a technical lead or staff-level engineer.
- Proven success scaling SaaS systems to enterprise-level demands.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and database design.
- Mastery of Kubernetes, CI/CD, and microservice architectures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence technical direction.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in HRTech, workforce management, or data-heavy SaaS.
- Public speaking, writing, or community contributions on technical topics.
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead design for high-scale, multi-tenant SaaS systems.
- Set standards for engineering quality, testing, security, and reliability.
- Own cross-cutting technical initiatives that span multiple teams.
- Review system designs and provide guidance to senior and mid-level engineers.
- Build tools, frameworks, and abstractions to improve developer velocity.
- Partner with leadership to align engineering execution with company strategy.
