This is a foundational function, and you will need a proven track record of building and scaling eDiscovery operations, inspiring stakeholder confidence, and working with autonomy in a fast-paced, global environment.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of hands-on experience in eDiscovery, digital forensics, or litigation support.
  • At least 5+ years of experience managing the eDiscovery lifecycle (preservation, collection, processing, production) for a corporate legal department or in a consulting/service provider role.
  • Deep technical experience performing data collections from complex, modern data sources, especially cloud collaboration platforms (O365, Google Workspace, etc.)
  • Proven experience building, scaling, or managing an in-house eDiscovery program or function.
  • Expertise in designing and executing complex search queries, keyword/concept filtering, and data culling methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with leading eDiscovery and forensic collection tools (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, Magnet Forensics, or platform-native eDiscovery centers like Microsoft Purview).
  • Strong understanding of data privacy principles and the technical challenges of cross-border data transfers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, international enterprise.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (especially lawyers and legal professionals).

  • Familiarity with data in AWS or other cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Fluency in Korean

Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate the end-to-end legal hold process, including issuing hold notices, tracking custodian acknowledgments, and ensuring the defensible preservation of relevant data.
  • Implement and manage granular data preservation (legal holds) across Coupang's collaboration and email platforms to prevent spoliation.
  • Scope, identify, and defensibly collect relevant Electronically Stored Information (ESI) from a wide range of custodian data sources for active caseloads.

  • Design and execute complex search and filtering strategies (using keywords, date ranges, and other metadata) to cull data sets and prepare targeted exports for external review platforms.
  • Partner with Legal to respond to regulatory and government inquiries, ensuring data is collected and produced in a timely and defensible manner.
  • Support internal investigations by providing discreet, timely, and accurate data collection and preliminary analysis.
  • Develop and document standardized eDiscovery playbooks, workflows, and best practices to ensure repeatability, defensibility, and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with external eDiscovery vendors and outside counsel, overseeing data transfers and ensuring adherence to project specifications.
