The Drive Inverter team designs the power electronics that move Tesla’s cars - quickly, efficiently, and reliably. Delivering hundreds of kilowatts of power from the battery to the motor, the drive inverter integrates high voltage power electronics, low voltage circuits, controls, functional safety, thermal management, and mechanical packaging. Electronic Design Engineers on the Drive Inverter team deliver component designs to ensure the system-level performance of the industry’s highest production volume traction inverters. End-to-end ownership of new inverter PCBA designs including specifications, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring up, validation, and overseeing reliability and functional testing Collaboration with cross functional teams (mechanical, firmware, test, reliability etc.) to see products through high volume manufacturing Design and execute high voltage and high current validation of new inverter designs Debug complex component interactions at the vehicle level
