Job Summary: Location: Methodist Corporate Office Address: 825 S 169th St. - Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours between 8am - 5pm Responsible for coordinating onboarding and orientation for nursing and clinical staff. This position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating learning programs to ensure annual and ongoing skills competencies are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience required
  • Experience in an education or equivalent role preferred
  • Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn, retain and utilize computer skills
  • Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to collaborate productively in a team environment and to convey complex clinical information in a clear, concise manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Lead Onboarding and Orientation of New Staff – 50%
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of onboarding for new employees
  • Develop orientation plan for clinical staff in the ambulatory setting (primary care and specialty care areas)
  • Contribute to the development of the onboarding/orientation program
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership to monitor completion of learning/competency requirements
  • Perform documentation audits for employee skills assessments
  • Identify, plan and implement staff development initiatives that will enhance the acquisition of knowledge and skills – 25%
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational materials, instructional programs, and e-learning programs for preceptors and clinical staff
  • Serves as a clinical resource and role model for preceptors and staff in developing clinical knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Partner with learning center, clinic leadership, and preceptors to facilitate competency in critical thinking, communication, and technical skills for clinical staff
  • Supports organizational wide programs such as preceptor, phlebotomy, and injection training
  • Participate in ongoing initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical orientation and skills competency – 25%
  • Applies adult learning theories and evidence-based practice when updating educational materials
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership to develop and implement skills and competencies specific to clinic specialty
  • Establish an ongoing learning assessment instrument to evaluate current education and training programs
  • Communicates outcomes of programming to leadership and/or identified committees
  • Participates and/or facilitates interdisciplinary committees that influence staff development
  • Participates in continuing education and remains current on issues related to process
  • Maintain skills and competencies in the delivery of direct patient care
  • Travel to clinics when needed
