As a Staff Development Coordinator, you'll have responsibilities include assessing, developing and implementing staff development activities and programs associated with maintaining education and compliance in accordance with Blue Skies of Texas (BST), local, State and federal regulations for licensed staff, administrative staff and nursing assistants assigned to the skilled nursing facility at The Mission , as well as assigned Nutritional Services, Housekeeping, Resident Services, Maintenance, Beauty Shop staff and others, as deemed necessary. Coordinates and oversees the following programs: orientation, safety, emergency procedures, apprenticeships, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), job-specific training and continuing education, BST Nursing Sim Lab, along with certification programs for the Health Services Corporation (HSC). Proactively identifies opportunities for skill enhancement to meet the growing needs of the organization. Keeps abreast of industry standards and innovations and incorporates same into the staff development program. Partners with staff to meet program requirements and ensure each employee is introduced to career ladder opportunities. Functions as HSC focal point for various Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) programs, to include Hazard Communication, Exposure Control and Respiratory Protection. Also performs duties as an administrative nurse on rotating call. Work Schedule: Core work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday; however, special projects or assignments may require working additional hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. As an administrative nurse on rotating call, resident concerns, admissions, and discharges may need to be addressed and handled outside of core work hours.
