About The Position

Wellstone Regional Hospital, a 100-bed acute care facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, specializing in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and Adult populations, is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator for its Staff Development Department. This role involves directing the hospital's staff development program, organizing and planning training sessions, new-hire orientations, and tailoring training programs for all staff. The individual must be a Registered Nurse in Indiana.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program in nursing.
Registered Nurse in state of Indiana.
Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion.
Ability to prepare and present training events as directed for Nursing Services.
Completion of training in CPI/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Level preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the completion of all staff development training responsibilities/new hire orientations, and other assigned duties.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Instructs hospital staff in mandatory training as a new employee and reviews in a timely manner based on the policy of the hospital.
Maintains records of all staff development requirements on all hospital staff.
Scores all test results from trainings and files in employee records.
Acts as a participating member of all meetings and committees as required.
CPI/CPR instructor.
Primary contact for HEALTHSTREAM administration.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Nursing or CEO.
