About The Position

Wellstone Regional Hospital, a 100-bed acute care facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, specializing in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and Adult populations, is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator for its Staff Development Department. This role involves directing the hospital's staff development program, organizing and planning training sessions, new-hire orientations, and tailoring training programs for all staff. The individual must be a Registered Nurse in Indiana.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse in state of Indiana.
  • Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion.
  • Ability to prepare and present training events as directed for Nursing Services.
  • Completion of training in CPI/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Level preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the completion of all staff development training responsibilities/new hire orientations, and other assigned duties.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Instructs hospital staff in mandatory training as a new employee and reviews in a timely manner based on the policy of the hospital.
  • Maintains records of all staff development requirements on all hospital staff.
  • Scores all test results from trainings and files in employee records.
  • Acts as a participating member of all meetings and committees as required.
  • CPI/CPR instructor.
  • Primary contact for HEALTHSTREAM administration.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Nursing or CEO.
