About The Position

The Staff Development Coordinator supports employee training and development within assigned programs and, as needed, across additional sites. This position works closely with the Compliance Team, Human Resources, and program leadership to ensure all required training is completed in accordance with state guidelines and contractual requirements. This role is responsible for coordinating new hire training, maintaining training records, supporting staff readiness, and providing coaching and operational support outside of classroom settings. The Staff Development Coordinator plays an important role in promoting compliance, consistency, and professional growth across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Two years of relevant training experience preferred
  • Must have the following training certifications: First Aid, CPR, PAR, or Victim of Crime
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work independently, utilize initiative, stay organized, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, with the ability to learn and utilize other software programs
  • Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
  • Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
  • Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
  • Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams.
  • Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license
  • Must meet state criminal background check requirements
  • Must be able to travel to and from programs when needed for training purposes

Responsibilities

  • Provide staff development in a specific program and support other sites as needed
  • Work in conjunction with the Compliance Team to ensure training requirements are met according to state guidelines and contractual requirements
  • Coordinate new hire training with program leadership and Human Resources
  • Train staff assigned to the applicable program
  • Establish and maintain a tracking system to ensure all staff remain current on required state-mandated trainings
  • Ensure all training files are organized and completed properly according to established state guidelines
  • Assist with the revision and development of training materials as needed
  • Provide on-the-job training at the conclusion of all required new hire trainings
  • Assist with and provide on-the-spot coaching and support to day-to-day operations during non-training hours
  • Provide coverage and assistance in ratio when needed or as directed by leadership
  • Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth
  • Participate in training and development activities as required
  • Report any acts, incidents, or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships
  • Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed
