About The Position

Inovalon was founded in 1998 on the belief that technology, and data specifically, would empower the transformation of the entire healthcare ecosystem for the better, improving both outcomes and economics. At Inovalon, we believe that when our customers are successful in their missions, healthcare improves. Therefore, we focus on empowering them with data-driven solutions. And the momentum is building. Together, as ONE Inovalon, we are a united force delivering solutions that address healthcare’s greatest needs. Through our mission-based culture of inclusion and innovation, our organization brings value not just to our customers, but to the millions of patients and members they serve. Overview: The Staff Software Data will build and operate large-scale ingestion and transformation pipelines that power our enterprise data platform. You’ll own end-to-end delivery of batch + CDC pipelines into Snowflake, with strong operational maturity (quality, reliability, cost, observability).

Requirements

  • 8–15 years in data engineering / data platform roles shipping production-grade pipelines.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SQL (advanced) + performance-oriented data modeling
  • Python (pipeline logic, automation; FastAPI is a plus)
  • Airflow (or equivalent orchestration) including retries/backfills and dependency patterns
  • Snowflake (query optimization, tasks/streams, Snowpipe, stored procedures)
  • CDC / incremental loading patterns and operational handling of real-world edge cases
  • AWS: S3, MWAA, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, EMR (plus IAM basics)
  • Experience operating systems at scale with clear ownership, reliability mindset, and strong documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support production ingestion pipelines (batch + incremental + CDC) using AWS services and orchestration frameworks.
  • Design systems that operate reliably at scale, supporting high-volume ingestion and multi‑tenant workloads
  • Build repeatable patterns for schema evolution, idempotency, deduplication, late-arriving data handling, backfills, and replay.
  • Implement Snowflake-side patterns: Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks, stored procedures, warehouse sizing, query tuning, and cost controls.
  • Define and enforce data contracts and data quality gates (validation rules, reconciliation, anomaly detection, auditability).
  • Drive operational excellence: dashboards, alerts, runbooks, incident analysis, and continuous improvements to reduce reruns and MTTR.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to standardize onboarding patterns and create reusable framework components for teams adopting Data Platform.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within Employer’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues, including outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays), ensuring timely response and resolution as per defined SLAs.

  • In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
