The Opportunity: Join us in revolutionizing healthcare for rural America! We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help shape and build the infrastructure that powers analytics, data science, clinical tools, and care delivery. You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure data is trustworthy, well-organized, and ready to support both daily operations and long-term insights.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools, data modeling, and modern cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, dbt).
- Proficiency with SQL and Python for building and maintaining robust data workflows.
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data from various sources, including APIs and file-based systems.
- Implemented infrastructure in AWS
Nice To Haves
- Experience in regulated domains (HIPPA, PHI), or in healthcare systems.
- Background in building scalable data infrastructure in early-stage or startup environments
- Experience with GenAI tooling
Responsibilities
- Work with data science, product, engineering, operations, and clinical teams to define requirements for Homeward’s data infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure a uniform and consistent taxonomy and data collection practices that yield high quality analytics and insights for now and the future
- Design and build infrastructure to ingest, store, and report on members’ health data, such as claims data, lab results, medications, clinical data and more
- Design and implement workflows for ingestion and transformation for various data sources
- Work with a modern data engineering stack - some pieces of ours include Airbyte, Snowflake, and Metabase.
