POSITION SUMMARY The Staff Attorney and analyzes legal issues, drafts documents, reviews contracts and ensures compliance with existing contracts under the direction of the Associate General Counsil. Analyze the impact and application of federal and state health care laws and regulations affecting self-direction healthcare. The Staff Attorney must maintain knowledge of U.S. Healthcare laws including Medicaid, Medicaid waivers, Stark, False Claims and contract law.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • 2+ years of directly related experience preferably within a Medicaid environment
  • Licensing to practice law in at least one state and/or the District of Columbia preferred
  • High level of confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Support other business leaders in ensuring compliance with and training on applicable laws and regulations
  • Support business development regarding negotiating agreements, renewals, memoranda of understanding and side letter agreements
  • Develop and support a vendor contract strategy, reviewing vendor contracts as needed and establishing standards terms and conditions for third-party contracts
  • Advise operations leadership on all aspects of existing contacts and affect on operational processes and requirements
  • Identify and analyze legal issues and potential risks and recommended course of action
  • Administer the company contract management system
  • Assist business development with responses to requests for proposals
  • Collaborate with business development regarding negotiation of new contracts and amendments to existing contracts
  • Maintain the company’s contracts, agreements and other essential documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory filings
  • Review, research and interpret guidance provided by industry associations, periodicals and other sources for applicability to GT business
  • Upholds mission and values
