Verrill is seeking a Staff Attorney to join our Labor and Employment Practice Group in our Portland office in Maine. We are open to considering our Bangor office for experienced candidates. The Staff Attorney role is a part-time, non-partner track position designed for individuals seeking to make a meaningful contribution to our practice while maintaining flexibility. The role is ideal for someone with prior workers’ compensation experience or an attorney eager to learn and grow in this specialized area of law. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in handling workers’ compensation cases from intake through resolution, drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, conducting legal research and preparing memoranda, participating in hearings, depositions, and client meetings as needed, and collaborating with senior attorneys to ensure effective case management. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in private practice, specializing in workers’ compensation. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong research, writing, and analytical skills, along with superior verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
