About The Position

Staff Associate, Recruiting Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the recruitment process to attract, engage, and hire top talent that aligns with the University's goals and culture. This role involves partnering with hiring managers, sourcing candidates, and ensuring a seamless candidate experience while adhering to best practices and legal compliance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in recruiting, with a focus of in-house recruitment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to identify, build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, staff, faculty, and University partners in an effort to attract talent.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills with a focus on providing customer service to meet the needs of a diverse population of students, faculty, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with flexibility, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and AT systems.
  • Understanding of employment laws and hiring best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Related experience in a higher education environment and/or unionized environment.
  • Experience working with Interview Exchange or a similar ATS system.
  • Experience in developing recruitment programs designed to reflect university commitment to diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Provide support and guidance to search committee chairs and members to ensure an effective search process.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and promote the University's employer brand to source and attract qualified candidates.
  • Serve as the talent acquisition partner to search committee; implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates; and promote inclusive hiring practices throughout the search process.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple searches for hard to fill roles.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, LinkedIn platforms, professional networks, and employee referrals.
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future openings.
  • Facilitate the full recruitment process, from creating a position requisition and circulating for approval, to finalizing hiring offers and approvals, utilizing university applicant tracking system.
  • Ensure job posting details are accurate and include title, classification, salary/ budget and are compliant with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Assist search committees with reviewing resumes and applications to identify potential candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with search committees, providing necessary direction and preparation materials.
  • Assists with drafting offer letters and initiating the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure timely communication and provide feedback to candidates.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records in the university applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Represent the University at job fairs, career events, and networking functions.
  • Maintain position descriptions for all staff employees.
  • Maintain staffing and recruitment-related filed in accordance with records retention guidelines.
  • Assist in unemployment claims and processing.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Promote the University's values and culture to prospective candidates.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of sourcing and hiring strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on recruitment progress and market trends.
  • Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
  • Responsible for contributing to the Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.
