Rapid City Young Life has strong presence and history in the Rapid City and the Black Hills area. Rapid City Young Life started in 2000 and quickly grew impacting thousands of middle and high school kids in the area. It has become a thriving youth program in the area. Rapid City is a population of almost 100,000 people and with the surrounding Black Hills (over 250,000 people) live in the area. It is the home of Mt. Rushmore National Monument, Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park and Devil’s Tower Monument. We have golfing, hiking, biking, boating, hunting, snow skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and so much more. Our weather would be comparable to the Denver area and we have over 300 days of sunshine every year. Presently, there are vibrant ministries available for high school students across 3 high schools. We have 5 staff, 30 volunteer leaders, 18 vibrant committee members (many of whom helped launch Young Life 25 years ago in Rapid City), our own facility and a solid foundation of donors. We are excited to launch WyldLife, our ministry for middle-school kids and eager to see whom God will bring to lead this important outreach to middle school kids. We desire a winsome Christ-follower who will not only invite potential leaders/committee/donors to partner with us but train and model out incarnational ministry. We are seeking someone who is called and committed to loving Jesus and reaching middle school kids with the Gospel. We are looking for someone who is humble, teachable and a self-starter. Someone who is compelled by the Holy Spirit to share the hope of Jesus with kids and have a desire to build a team of adults to do the same. The staff person will get the unique opportunity to step into leadership with a seasoned team of staff (our Area Director has been since the beginning and has some rich history and experience doing Young Life in this community) and leaders. They will have great freedom to dream, design and build the WyldLife ministry from the ground up. This person will be tasked with spearheading WyldLife and developing a team of volunteer leaders in the area, plan and execute fundraising events and initiatives with the current staff, participate in direct ministry and develop personal communication and leadership skills.
