About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role maintains general ledger activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audits. The Staff Accountant works closely with finance and operations teams to support accurate record-keeping, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ Years of Accounting experience; restaurant or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Restaurant365, QuickBooks, Sage, or Similar)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy in assigned business units within Restaurant365
  • Manage daily sales reconciliation and bank deposit verification to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Maintain month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Track and reconcile inventory, cost of goods sold, and assist with vendor purchase verifications
  • Reconcile and record bank accounts and assigned company credit cards
  • Manage prepaid schedule and expense accruals
  • Assist with invoice inquiries from Accounts Payable and property management teams
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
  • Engage property management teams with continuous training and feedback on accounting procedures
  • Ensure filing and records retention plans are in place at all properties
  • Recommend SOP updates to enhance the accounting practices
  • Support financial audits, tax filings, and ad hoc financial projects as needed
