Position Summary The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations for FCC’s U.S. business. This position is responsible for general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close tasks, and financial reporting support across multiple operating locations. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate environment).
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations).
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi‑location or multi‑entity accounting preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries for recurring and ad‑hoc transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, accruals, prepaids, and intercompany activity.
  • Assist in timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
  • Analyze variances and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial results.
  • Support preparation of internal management reports and consolidated financial statements.
  • Collaborate with AP, AR, and Treasury teams to ensure complete and accurate financial data across multiple departments.
  • Review coding of invoices and purchase orders to ensure proper classification
  • Assist with cost allocation processes as needed
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits
  • Assist with regulatory filings for sales and use tax
  • Assist with yearly property tax tangible tax filings
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company accounting policies with GAAP or IFRS
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare monthly reporting for parent company
  • Support new systems, processes, or workflow improvements as the company continues expanding.
  • Complete special projects and analyses assigned by the Accounting Manager or Finance Leadership.
