About The Position

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations and detailed reports. This position also assists with month end close, audits and special projects. The Staff Accountant will review expense accounts under their responsibility for accuracy and reasonableness as well as explain variances to Plan and Prior Year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting concentration preferred)
  • Experience with general ledger accounting required
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and solid Excel knowledge
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify high-priority tasks and focus on the most impactful work
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail while working quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
  • Retail industry experience preferred
  • Position based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a hybrid work schedule

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting schedules in line with GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare and record journal entries
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expenses are recorded accurately
  • Support month-end close activities
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process
  • Support the accounting team with projections, analysis, and other strategic projects as needed
