Position Overview CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and participate in a fast paced, engaging, and innovative environment! This position will play a valued role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our accounting systems and processes, assist in maintaining our accounting system through analysis of customer contracts and the creation of invoices, credits, revenue arrangements, journal entries and other supporting tasks. Collaborating with a team of engineers, this position will assist in entering and maintaining accounting documentation related to revenue recognition.

Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) of general accounting experience, including the month end close process
  • Data-driven mindset and passion for analytics and research
  • Customer service oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize ERP systems and in-house developed systems
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and timely adherence to deadlines
  • Strong team player, capable of dealing with multiple issues at a time

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare revenue month-end close reports based on analysis of billing and costs associated with the projects.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Prepare monthly reports for projects, collections, billings, contracts, and WIP (Work in Process) reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Fully utilize ERP software to achieve financial and operational objectives on a timely basis.
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements
  • Process account reconciliations by verifying balances and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain lease and fleet management programs
  • Participate in the annual audit and quarterly review procedures; ensure timely and accurate documentation for external auditors.
  • Participate in the implementation of internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.
