About The Position

The Staff Accountant provides support to the Senior Accountant and Controller in managing various accounting and audit support functions. Position Purpose: The Staff Accountant provides support to the Senior Accountant and Controller in managing various accounting and audit support functions.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in public or private accounting or other financial position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post Journal Entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist Senior Accountant in monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students’ revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, account payables, and reserves.
• Assist with weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations.
• Assist Senior Accountant with grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements.
• Assist Senior Accountant and Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
