The Staff Accountant supports the finance team and program directors so they can provide quality services to clients who are struggling with basic needs including food, mental health care, senior services, and child abuse prevention. Essential Functions Processes bookkeeping transactions, manages accounts payable and accounts receivable, and reconciles bank, credit card and investment accounts. Manages Children’s Service Fund and client services billing. Aligns general ledger accounting practices to support reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Prepares grant budget reports. Assists in payroll and benefit processing Assists with month end closing procedures and reporting Assists program directors with preparing annual program budgets and grant proposal budgets. In coordination with the Chief Financial Officer, prepares annual operating budget. Participates in the annual audit process. Assists with staff training in the areas of budget development, budget management, fiscal accountability, financial procedures, human resources, and others, as needed. Ensures a positive and productive work environment. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Complies with all company policies and standards.
